C-MiRM (Course for Managers in Risk Management)
Brief Description
The objective of the course is to provide a structured approach with well-defined guidelines and strategies to establish and maintain a multi-dimensional risk management framework. Utilising the principles and framework of ISO 31000:2018 the course will synchronize risk management processes in existing and future implementation of International Standards such as ISO 31010:2019 (Risk Management Techniques), ISO 45001:2018 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems). The C-MiRM course will enhance the ability of managers who create and protect value within the company by managing risks, making decisions, setting and achieving objectives and improving performance through exploiting opportunities and applying risk response methods. This course provides a broad overview of each of the related International Standards within the context of Operational Risk Management responsible for implementing a layered approach dealing with risk at horizontal and vertical tiers. The level of delivery includes Operational Risk Management at site level, Enterprise Risk Management at group or corporate levels and Governance, Risk and Compliance at Board level.
Learning Outcomes
The learning outcomes for each theme and or module are essential to achieve the critical learning outcomes as set out below.Attendees will have the: Understand the evolution of risk management. Ability to develop an action plan for risk maturity evolvement based on traits from measurement criteria. Understanding of risk management vocabulary. Understand the relationships between accident causes, behaviour / habitual traits, event threats and consequences. Ability to integrate risk management activities in a multi-dimensional framework. Ability to apply concepts and methods to identify risk opportunities through SWOT and Force Field analysis. Ability to breaking down risk category information into critical related components. Understanding of the various risk assessment techniques available within boundaries of realistic company objectives. Understanding principles of critical controls, critical control management regime and control vulnerability analysis. Understanding of the layers of protection assurance required for critical controls. Understanding of the requirements of Health and Safety Leadership principles within the framework of the ISO standards.
