Brief Description
Three-day training platform provides a consistent institutional and operational framework within which individuals and organisations are able to discharge their developmental functions amidst climate change consideration. It’s practical in nature and combines taught sessions with exercises in which participants apply their learning to key issues including climate change risks, vulnerabilities and opportunities; developing frameworks for detailed climate risk assessment and identifying potential adaptation measures; identifying a range of adaptation options which improve project/development planning and management; as well as integrating climate change adaptation options into project business and spatial plans. This approach is contextualised in global climate science, policy and key concepts in adaptation and resilience, and real-world examples are used throughout the course. Thus one understands what is required for the implementation of climate change adaptation sector plans for rural and urban settlements.
