Enterprises University of Pretoria recently spearheaded a stakeholder engagement session hosted by the Department of Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities on 25 January 2023 in Pretoria. Enterprises UP was entrusted with the task of harmonising reporting instruments for disability rights in order to develop a results-based reporting template, that will monitor the progress made in advancing the rights of people with disabilities, in line with the 2030 National Development Plan.
One of the mandates the department has been tasked with is to ensure government’s compliance with national, regional and international disability rights advocacy policies, which currently have overburdened government departments reporting on them. Prof Chuks Eresia-Eke, Business Management lecturer at the University of Pretoria, who was one of the facilitators, said that he and Mr AK Dube, a disability rights specialist, had developed a harmonised version of all the instruments to ensure the ease of reporting for monitoring and evaluation.
Following the speakers, the department scheduled a workshop with representatives of various national departments and civil society in order for Enterprises UP to introduce them to the harmonised reporting instrument and receive feedback and buy-in for the future reporting of disability programmes.
Congratulations to Research Solutions at Enterprises UP, for positioning the company as the partner of choice.
