New year, new goals and new faces

Enterprises University of Pretoria (Enterprises UP) has successfully kicked off 2020, as they welcomed new and returning delegates for short courses and programmes commencing 6 January 2020.

With Enterprises UP’s responsibility to manage and execute commercial research, consulting and training activities for the University of Pretoria (UP), its training and research solutions have sustained the brand’s position in providing relevant training and skills required for a globally competitive market.

Operations are in full swing for 2020, and the increase in enrolment of new and returning delegates has highlighted the significant need for skills, career and self-development. The brand has countered this need by implementing methods such as the use of modern technology and expertise provided by experts in their respective fields.    

Enterprises UP has successfully rolled out 35 short courses and programmes in the month of January 2020. This has set the tone for the year ahead, and delegates can look forward to more innovative training and research solutions.

Here is a recap of the month that was:  

1. Introduction to Mining

Microsoft, together with their partners, participated in an insightful Introduction to Mining short course, with focus on topics like virtual reality in mining. Read more

2. Practical Wiring

74 delegates enrolled in the Practical Wiring short course presented by the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering, University of Pretoria. The course combined a good balance of practical and theory based work, namely, DSP software, designing of protection and offset circuits, presented by Dr. Rajendran Naidoo.

 

3. In-situ Geotechnical Testing and Tailings Applications

Both aspiring and professional engineers had the opportunity to enrol for the In-situ Geotechnical Testing and Tailings Applications short course, with the aim to refresh and improve their knowledge of geotechnical in-situ testing techniques.

4. Project Quality, Risk and Time Management: Independent Development Trust

Enterprises UP had the pleasure of hosting the second group of delegates from the Independent Development Trust (IDT), for an inhouse Project Quality, Risk and Time Management short course. Read more

5. Money Laundering Investigation and Detection

Investigation methodology, anti-money laundering laws and regulations, were some of the topics delegates explored during the five-day Money Laundering Investigation and Detection short course, presented by Adv. Hannes Bezuidenhout.

6. School of Law Registration

As one of the most sought after short courses, the School of Law registered 181 new delegates, eagerly prepared to complete the six-month course. Read more
