Brief Description
|
The Public Finance Management Act (PFMA) requires the Accounting Officer/Accounting Authority to take effective steps to prevent irregular expenditure.
Violation of the relevant legislative framework, lack of effort to determine responsibility and recover monies due to the state and lack of timeous consequence management may undermine the ethos of the PFMA.
Although supply chain management is an important business function in government operations, its objectives are yet to be completely achieved within the South African public sector.
Also, the Auditor-General of South Africa (AGSA) has continuously reported that public sector SCM is the main contributor to the billions of Rands of irregular expenditure, resulting from repeated transgressions of SCM policies and laws.
This course provides accounting officers and accounting authorities with a process and insight to deal with losses relating from unauthorised, irregular, fruitless & wasteful expenditure (UIF&W) and material irregularity (MI) identified from expenditure transactions.
This course is presented by public sector experts with the requisite academic background and practical experience.
