Enterprises University of Pretoria (Enterprises UP) honoured delegates who completed the Advanced Course in Computer Integrated Education (CIE), during a certificate ceremony in Cape Town, March 2020.

The course attended by 41 delegates during the 2019 intake, aimed at redefining the skills and knowledge of e-learning practitioners, by equipping them with relevant tools conducive to the demands of the work environment, specifically, the teaching environment. Upon successfully completing the course, delegates would also have gained valuable experience in implementing e-course tools in their curriculum.

The group of delegates truly displayed perseverance despite adversities throughout the journey. The course sharpened their skills set in global citizenship, innovation and creativity, technology skills, interpersonal skills, personalised and self-paced learning, accessible and inclusive learning, problem-based and collaborative learning, and lifelong and student-driven learning.

Today, unpredictable socio-economic factors have affected many industries. The current disruption in the education sector has shifted methods of traditional learning and teaching, and has imposed the implementation of e-learning as an alternative method. Essentially, the CIE course has prepared delegates, as e-learning facilitators, to transform, redefine and excel, in their practice during these trying times.

Unfortunately, this memorable occasion was one of the last certificate ceremonies hosted by Enterprises UP until further notice, as a result of the national lockdown regulations. The prohibitions on gatherings, social distancing rules and ensuring the safety of all delegates, has prompted the postponement of all certificate ceremonies previously scheduled during the lockdown.

Enterprises UP has also enforced numerous health and safety measures affecting a selection of operations conducted with delegates, clients and suppliers. For more updates and information on precautionary measures and changes implemented by Enterprises UP, visit the COVID-19 Update.
