Brief Description
The Programme in Business Analysis provides you with comprehensive training in all aspects of business analysis based on the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) Guide (Version 3). The programme covers topics of significant concepts and management of business analysis, the role and execution of ICT in business analysis, as well as managing change as a business analyst. During the programme, you will also gain insights to a wide range of relevant themes, including strategy analysis, lifecycle management, communication and interpersonal skills, an ICT overview, requirements analysis and design definition, solution evaluation, change management, as well as planning and monitoring.
Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing the programme, you will be able to demonstrate basic background knowledge on business concepts and management prove proficiency in suggested BABOK competencies with specific reference to: Strategy analysis Interpersonal and communication skills Requirements elicitation, analysis and design Evaluation of solutions Planning and monitoring understand the role and execution of ICT in business analysis, and successfully manage change as a business analyst.

Strategy analysis (BASA) Business overview for analysts (GABU) Self-study (Online) Requirements elicitation and requirements lifecycle management (BARE) Communication skills for analysts (GACS) Interpersonal skills for analysts (GAIP) ICT overview for analysts (GAIT) Self-study (Online) Requirements analysis and design definition (BARA) Solution evaluation (BASE) Change management for analysts (GACM) Business analysis planning and monitoring (BAMA)AssessmentEvaluation for the eight contact modules will take place through a three-hour open book examination and an individual assignment per module. (Where there is both an assignment and an examination, the assignment will contribute 50% and the examination 50% to the final mark for the module.) Evaluation of the two self-study modules will be web based.Full-day attendance of contact sessions is compulsory. Considerable time is required for further reading and study. Two modules are presented as assisted self-study modules through the University of Pretorias online learning platform.
Entry Requirements
Prospective delegates should at least have a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or equivalent qualification with a pass mark in either mathematics (not mathematical literacy) or accounting. Delegates with a relevant bachelors degree or diploma and extensive experience in the fields of IT or business will receive preference.
