Brief Description
During the Programme in Project Management you will not only gain the requisite skills to ensure that projects are delivered seamlessly, but you will also be equipped with the necessary tools to manage projects on time and within any allocated budget. This comprehensive programme has been designed to develop both your project management skills and insights, while empowering you with the necessary tools and techniques to successfully deliver any project.
 
The PPM celebrated 20 years of training excellence in 2017, with delegates from a variety of industries and government organisations having already successfully completed and benefited from the programme since 1997. Learning Outcomes
After successful completing the programme, you will be able to:
  • Use internationally accepted terms related to project management correctly;
  • Initiate projects, identify stakeholders and develop scope statements for projects in their work environment;
  • Manage scope changes;
  • Identify work packages, and the responsibilities and roles of stakeholders;
  • Schedule projects, allocate resources, estimate costs and control progress of delivery;
  • Manage project risks in their work environment;
  • Apply the basics of project procurement in their work environment;
  • Explain the basics of the Law of Contract;
  • Apply the principles of team building in the workplace and work more effectively as a team member;
  • Explain the basics of the South African Labour Law;
  • Use financial methods to assess a project as an investment;
  • Explain the benefits and limitations of systems such as MSProject and others; and
  • Apply the principles of project quality management;Professional recognition and articulation
After successfully completing this course, suitable candidates will be eligible to apply for professional designation as a Project Manager (PM) conferred by Project Management South Africa (PMSA). PMSA is the SAQA recognised professional body representing the interests of project managers across sectors.

Entry Requirements
Prospective delegates should at least have a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) with mathematics or accounting, or equivalent and/or relevant work experience.
 
Delegates who wish to enrol for the Weekender offering should have a bachelors degree or similar qualification and/or extensive, relevant work experience.
