Brief Description
The Public Management Development Programme provides you with the required working knowledge and understanding of major managerial and financial management issues encountered in your capacity as public sector councillor or senior manager.
 
The programme specifically covers various aspects of strategic operations management and service delivery, knowledge management and organisational transformation, public financial management, programming and project management, as well as secure delivery management and problem solving.
 
During the programme, you will also get a better grip on administrative law and governance, apply the principles of sound people and performance management, and identify and apply principles of effective leadership and Management.
Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of the programme, delegates should be able to
 
  • analyse leadership and related theories in a work context
  • apply a systems approach to decision making
  • identify and interpret best practice guidelines, and plan for and implement best practice within the team, department or division
  • integrate the principles of strategic management in the workplace
  • establish and manage an information and knowledge management strategy

  • apply the principles of effective and efficient public finance
  • conduct and apply the principles of project management in the rendering of public service.

Prospective delegates should at least have a National Senior Certificate (Matric) qualification
