Railway Asset Management
Brief Description
The Railway Asset Management short course introduces you to the general principles of railway asset management focusing on a better understanding of appropriate railway system design, prevailing and future business needs, as well as the development of necessary Lifecycle Maintenance Plans (LMPs). This course will help you adapt to and proactively manage changing business circumstances in the railway industry by gaining a better understanding of the appropriateness of design of the railway system that you are currently managing, or prospectively looking to manage. This course is presented as part of the Railway Engineering Education Programme of the University of Pretoria.
Learning Outcomes
After successfully completing this course, you will have a better understanding of the appropriateness of the design of the railway system that you are managing and the ability to adapt and plan according to changing business circumstances by identifying key business needs.
Course Content
The course covers key facets of the management of a railway asset having a lifecycle, and the relationship between railway asset management as part of a system and of a business plan.
Entry Requirements
Prospective delegates should at least have a National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification and/or relevant work experience.
